Dragon's Beard Candy (龍鬚糖)

   Do you remeber that I have introduced foreign cotton candy before? Today, I would like to introduce cotton candy too, but this is chinese cotton candy, which is called Dragon's beard candy(龍鬚糖). Did you taste it in your childhood? Dragon's beard candy is in my top ten of my favourite snacks. You must taste it at least once.

   Aucally,  Dragon's beard candy is a traditional chinese sweet, and  it has been invented for the emperor about 2,000 years ago. Thus, it were not only found in Hong Kong, but also can in Beijing, Shanghai and many cities in China.

  Dragon's beard candy is made by malt sugar, white sugar, peanut, sesame and desiccated coconut. It is cooked by well and experienced chefs. They always perform Dragon's beard candy's folding process in their stall. But you may seldomly see it in Hong Kong, you just can buy a pack of Dragon's beard candy only. If you will travel in China in the future, you may see the chef's performance later on. Therefore, if you want to taste it, I suggest you can go to Mongkok, becuase there is a stall specially that can sell Dragon's beard candy. The taste is very good!!! Let's try it @

PEZ (皮禮士糖)

Do you know a brand name call “PEZ”?

PEZ is a combination word of the first, the middle and the last letter of the German word “PFEFFERMINZ” (= peppermint). It was invented by Eduard Haas in Austria in 1927 and now it is 83 years old.

Many people ate “PEZ” candy in their childhood. Most of them do not care about the taste of candy, and they just care about the candy boxes. As there are many different types of candy boxes with different cartoon roles. Many people like collecting PEZ candy boxes. Such as: Tigger, Mickey Mouse, Star war etc.

 “PEZ” first introduced to America market in 1952, and it was designed as a product for adults originally. However the sales performance was not good.

In 1962, “PEZ” cooperated with Walt Disney. The candy boxes were ornamented with images of Mickey Mouse, Donald and Goofy and many people liked this series.  Not only the audits, but also children liked this series. Children became the target buyers too.

Since 1965, countless license agreements with producers of the most popular comic figures were concluded world-wide and ensured the loyalty of generations of PEZ-fans in over 80 counties around the world. For example: Thomas & Friends, Shrek, Hello Kitty, SpongeBob and so on. More and more people become the fans of PEZ.

In 2007, PEZ celebrated 80^th anniversary.  It presented many classic candy boxes and different size of candy boxes. 

I bought many PEZ candy boxes in my childhood, including Bugs Bunny, Tweety, Garfield and Winner the Pooh.  I love the candy boxes design very much and brought them to school every day.  Also I bought a larger candy boxes in 80^th anniversary.

Magic Pop Crackling Candy

Hi, everyone! Thanks for reading my blog. I’m Susan Tam. I’m apologizing that my English is so bad in my first sharing. I hope I can improve it and all of you can understand it. This is my second sharing of my childhood snack which is “Magic Pop Crackling Candy”.

A package of Crackling Candy is so many grains of broken sugars. When we tasted the Crackling Candy which dissolution by saliva, the small sugar beats in the oral cavity. Then we can hear the rustling sound. Although it make you have some special feeling, you can felt that has the little pain and the mark itches, looks like in the mouth to explode.

In childhood, I like go supermarket with my mother because I can buy different kinds of snacks which can make me happy. I always eat sweet in any time. The Magic Pop Crackling Candy is one my favorite sweet. I like eating Crackling Candy with my brother on the big tree. It is because that is our secret area where collect our good memory. Also, we like climbing on the tree which can make us happy. It’s because when my father hit us, he didn’t how to climb it. We just sat on the tree and laugh him. Haha.. .. we are the naughty child.

There are different kinds of Crackling Candy. What is your favorite taste?

I don’t try this one. Now, there are many new tastes in the supermarket.

I think the package design is so good. It can attract child who want to buy it.

I think the lemon of Crackling Candy is not good because it tasted as like as the “liquid detergent” which is cleaning the bowl. Do you think it??

Have you seen above videos in your childhood or now?

     Let me give you some history about VITASOY, this is an original soybean drink, which is a well known brand around the world,I sure that almost everyone knows this brand name, as VITASOY launch lots of promotions and functions to capture consumer's attention, in order to gain more market share and attempt to fullfill all of your needs and wants. I often bought VITASOY drinks with my friends during recession when I was young. It give me long lasting feelings, I like the white one, orginal flavour, how abou you??? 

     VITASOY offers different sorts of tastes to the traget audiences, until now, VITASOY also create new flavours to the customers. As it is inexpensive, together with different tastes and different design,  buyers can afford to purchase VITASOY.

Thus, VITASOY is a famous drink world wide.
It's brand promotes  "One Goal, One Vision".

Besides, I would like to share my experiences about VITASOY. No doubt that, Vitasoy is one of the famous brands and fabulous drinks in Honk Kong. It establish good impression that can attract different types of customers. Reasons I like drinking VITASOY? As reasonable, attractive and affordable amount with sweet tastes.  

For me, it's easy and convience to buy this products as well, because it is almost can see at anywhere, anytime.

Therefore, my parents brought VITASOY to us regularly in the past. Moreover, I could keep it and put it into refrigerator, froze the drinks and enjoyed cold drink after few hours later. Hence, I like drinking VITASOY during summer time.

Somtimes I may think can I back to childhood?? Is it possible? Actually no!! But I know the delighted memories may leave in mind.

Nowadays, VITASOY creates seasonal or festival designs on the package of drink,

it's really funny and attractive!! Right??

In addition, I really have deep impression about the latest advertisement, I remember the title song that obtain award, which is held by ''The Most Popular TV Commercial Awards''. I trust tnat VITASOY can standy by you in the future.

Cotton Candy : Collecting Cotton Candy

Cotton Candy (棉花糖)

    

    Today, I introduce cotton candy, but this type cotton candy cannot be bought in supermarket. Have you tasted it in your childhood? I have already tasted the cotton candy in my childhood. I still remember that my first time to tasted this type cotton candy in Lai Chi Kok Amusement Park(荔園) and I felt very magical and interesting when I tasted it, because the cotton candy dissolved in my mouth. Although, Lai Chi Kok Amusement Park is already closed, we can be able to find this type cotton candy in Hong Kong, For example, Hong Kong Disneyland.

    Autually, this type cotton candy has a long long history around Mid-18th Century and it come from Europe. Cotton Candy is form of spun sugar. Since it is mostly air, servings are large.  Food coloring is used to change the natural white color, thus it has many color, such as blue, pink and green......

     How to make the cotton candy? The machine used to make cotton candy consists of a small bowl, into which sugar is poured and food coloring is added.  The operator use a stick, cone, or their hands around the rim of the large catching bowl, gathering the sugar strands into portions.    

    Did you taste the cotton candy? If you no, never mind~~Let me describle to you. It is sticky and sweet,  Although it feels like wool to the touch, it dissolves quickly in the mouth.  It is soft and fluffy when dry but it comes in contact with moisture, it becomes sticky and damp.

My favouite drink---Yakult

Hey~everybody! I'm Susan Tam. I'm so glad to share my childhood food which is Yakult. It recaptures my childhood. I know that it is a famous drink when we was young, right?

I have a good childhood when I was young. My parents love me so much. They always bought Yakult to me because the television advertising promoted it which can let children have a health body. They trust that so much! What is your parent? Did they believe that advertisment? Now, there are so many Yakult advertising in Hong Kong. It is so funny and that can attract buyer to buy the product. Let me show the oldest advertising and the new advertising for you.

Do you remember this advertising? I was a naughty girl when I was young. My brother and I like climb the tree so much!That advertising can let me miss my father who is so strict. But I know that he is a kind father because when we cried, he gave me the Yakult which taste so good. So, when I drink it, I miss my childhood so much!

Haha... ... It is so funny advertisment. I love it so much! When I was young, I want to be pretty and charming bride. I believe that the if I drunk more Yakult, I can be a desirable girl. Every girl know that the appearance it so important. It is because we wish we can meet a handsome prince and  we can get a happy ending! Do you have a same dream for me?

This advertising is so funny. Do you remember your first love? When is it happened? I miss my first love when I dirnk the Yakult. I remember that my ex-boy friend and I always drink it for breakfast. It is so sweets! We sat in the playground and enjoyed our best drink. Do you have a same memory? Haha...

Yakult accompanied us in our daily life. Can you feel it?

Skittles(彩虹糖)

Do you remember “Skittles” (彩虹糖)? It is the colorful candies shell with red package.

Did you eat “Skittles” in your childhood? I sure the answer is “Yes”.

Skittles is one of the most popular candies available. It was less than 40 years ago, also if has been updated and marketed to always look hip and colorful. Nowadays Skittles is sold in over 65 counties around the world. It still remains one of the most popular brand of candies.

Skittles was first introduced to market in 1974 in American. This candy looks like M&M chocolate. Sometimes I confuse Skittles with M&M chocolate. However, the M&M logo is found on M&M candies, Skittles prints a small “s” on each of its candies.

 

It was first introduced to Hong Kong market in 1980’s. The marketing slogan of Skittles is “Taste the rainbow”. I found some advertisements of Skittles and those are interesting.

           

             

In the summer of 2004, Skittles was extended with the release of Skittles Bubble Gum. With a crunchy candy shell, the difference was a fruit flavored, soft bubble gum center. In addition, there are other varieties of Skittles available including: Skittles Bite Size Candies Original Flavor, Skittles Bite Size Candies Tropical, Skittles Bite Size Candies Wild Berry, Sour Skittles Bite Size Candies and Skittles Bite Size Candies Smoothie. Did you find them from supermarkets or stores??

To catch the customer needs and wants, Skittles designed new packages again. I visited Mannings last week, and found out that Skittles promote the new packages. The new packages design quite well. I think many office ladies (OL) will like this package and buy it. I think that you will like this packages also.=]

When i was a child, I usually went to tuck shop or supermarket to buy it.

Halo, friends!! It’s my turn to tell you the next childhood snacks today, before I start, let me ask you a question? Do you know Four Seas’ products? I think all of you may know this brand via internet or corporate’ commercial advertisement that published online or even in television. As most of people may watch television or surf internet everyday through mass media, thus, I trust that you may know this brand name and its products that provided to consumers.

Please don’t hesitate, I you really want to try it, you can buy it as quick as possible; as there are different flavour enable you to choose. You can buy Biscuits Sticks from school tuck shop, or can purchase at convenience store, supermarket and self-vending machine and so on. It’s really easy to buy this product, because it distribute in so many places that can satisfy consumers’ needs and wants.

Is this product attractive enough? Do you want t buy it now?

No doubt that, Biscuits Sticks is delicious and small pack is easy to storage, you can keep it in your bag.

I remembered that in my childhood, my mother brought lots of package and keep them at home; I often brought Biscuits Sticks that kept in my school bag, shared it with my friends at school during recess time or lunch time regularly. Most importantly, I needed to queue up as there were so many students brought snacks during break, I had to wait for about 15 minutes.

On the other hand, in school picnic, I kept it in my bag and enjoy it during tea time in a quiet and good environment outside. I hope I can back to past to recapture innocent and happy moment in my childhood, it is great to review my childhood, but I know it’s impossible.

One package of Biscuits Sticks is cheap, tasty and crispy. For me, there are different kinds of tastes, give me different experiences, I can select what I like. Actually, my favourite flavour is “vegetable salad flavour “, how about you?
